Learn and apply electrical theory including magnetism, transformers, symbols and diagrams, electrical circuits, and motors.

Refrigeration Fundamentals
Learn and apply refrigeration theory as well as service and problem-solving skills.

Air Conditioning Fundamentals
Learn and apply various skills for installing, maintaining, diagnosing, troubleshooting, servicing, and commissioning air-conditioning equipment and systems.

Heating Technology Fundamentals
With an emphasis on combustion and combustion efficiency, learn the skills to identify, diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and commission heating equipment and systems.

This certificate program offers hands-on courses to prepare you for direct to work careers as an HVAC/R Mechanic and Installer. Here are just some examples.

HVC 101 Electricity for HVAC/R

This course will provide the student with instruction in the fundamentals of electrical theory including magnetism, transformers, symbols and diagrams, electrical circuits, and motors, with an emphasis on motors and control devices typically found in heating, refrigeration, and air-conditioning equipment.

HVC 104 Fundamentals of Air Conditioning

This course will provide students with the knowledge and skills to identify and apply the principles and strategies necessary for installing, maintaining, diagnosing, troubleshooting, servicing, and commissioning air-conditioning equipment and systems.

HVC 103 Heating Technology

This course will provide the student with a working knowledge of the basic components of heating systems, with an emphasis on combustion and combustion efficiency, and skills to apply common techniques to identify, diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and commission heating equipment and systems.
