Student Involvement, Clubs & Organizations
Student Involvement Mission Statement:
Student Involvement at Fulton-Montgomery Community College strives to provide a holistic program of enrichment outside the classroom that reflects the interests of a diverse cultural, social, and ethnic extended learning community. Our goal is to promote intellectual health, physical wellness, and a personally engaging college experience for every student.
The Student Involvement Office is led by the Coordinator of Student Involvement, who oversees a comprehensive college-wide program of student activities, events, and resources. The Coordinator plays a key role in developing student leadership by training students to take on responsibilities within campus organizations and preparing them for future leadership opportunities. The office also provides advisement and support to all student clubs, organizations, and their advisors.
To stay informed about upcoming events, visit the College News & Events page, join the FMCC Student Involvement Facebook group, or contact the Student Involvement Office in person. We’re located in the Evans Library Building, Room L100S.
The Coordinator of Student Involvement works closely with the Student Senate Association (SSA) in sponsoring leadership training for interested students and cultural events for the campus community. If you are interested in becoming a member of the Student Senate Association, stop by for information on joining. Elections are held in the fall for most SSA positions. The student trustee is elected in the spring semester.
Members of the FMCC Student Senate are comprised of one elected member (senator) from each active club on campus. Students elected to the officer positions continue to represent their club. All senators, including officers, shall have one vote for any item before the FMCC Student Senate.
If you are looking for a leadership position on campus, please consider one of the following officer positions; Club Senator, Student Trustee, FMCC Senate Student Rep, Student Senate Chair, Student Senate Vice Chair, Student Senate Treasurer, or Student Senate Secretary.
All members of the FMCC Student Senate Association must maintain at least a 2.5 GPA in order to serve in their elected positions. After reading this, if you are interested in hearing more about these opportunities, please attend the Student Senate Association meetings.

The Gaming Club is open to all students who enjoy playing video games and learning about how these games are created. The video gaming room is located in the basement of the Oconnell Hall and all are always welcome!
The Hands for Animals Club helps a variety of animal welfare organizations by visiting local animal shelters and by having fundraisers for them. In the past, the club has also had animal supply drives for some of the local shelters and it has sponsored therapy dog visits to FMCC. The club often does a fun animal related activity near the end of the semester, like visiting the Utica Zoo, visiting the New England Aquarium in Boston, visiting the Magic Wings Butterfly Conservatory in Deerfield, MA, or going horseback riding.
A club for the Human and Addiction Services programs on campus. The Pickleball Club is a welcoming club where we get together once a week to play an exciting game. Pickleball is a mixture of table tennis and tennis. The sport is designed to be easy to play but hard to master.
The Pride Society Club offers the opportunity for students to discuss issues related to sexual orientation, diversity, and sex-based discrimination. The club sponsors on-campus speakers who promote tolerance. Members also attend conferences at other colleges where they can share ideas with their peers.
The Student Ambassadors Club represent the college by engaging with prospective students, parents, and the community. They serve as leaders and role models, offering tours, sharing experiences, and promoting the college’s values. The club provides opportunities for students to develop leadership, communication, and public speaking skills while making a positive impact on the college’s image.
