The Commons: Academic Support & Tutoring Services
Students are invited to visit the Commons, 1st Floor of the Evans Library, where tutoring and academic success coaching services are located. The Commons is also home to various Student Success Programs: TRIO, EOP and Accessibility Services. At The Commons, students can work with a peer and/or professional tutor in their academic coursework: homework assignments, test-preparation and general study-skills, time management, writing and research projects.
The Commons is open Monday - Thursday, 8am – 5pm; Fridays, 8am – 4pm
Evening and weekend virtual tutoring is also available
Academic Tutoring and Success Coaching is critical to your success as a student at FMCC. Being supported through your academic journey will aid in your success and future goals.
Students can receive help from both professional coordinators and peer tutors on a walk-in or an appointment basis during scheduled day and evening hours.

TRiO/Quest is a free student success program serving income qualified or first-generation students and students registered with Accessibility Services with a disability (physical, psychiatric, learning, or recovering from addiction). TRiO provides academic advising, transfer and career counseling, one-on-one tutoring (if eligible) and drop-in tutoring, as well as access to free printing, copying, and computers in our own dedicated study space.
