The Perrella Gallery of Fulton-Montgomery Community College is currently hosting a new exhibition by local artist William P. Wiatr. The show is entitled, William P. Wiatr: The Adirondack Artist, and features a large number of painted scenes from the vast Adirondack Park.
Wiatr’s gallery is currently located in the foothills of the Adirondacks in Poland, NY where he resides with his wife, Chris. The work in Wiatr’s gallery reflects his interactions with the natural world around him and he paints a variety of Adirondack mountain scenes, lakes, and wildlife. With a rustic aesthetic that matches the subject matter of his paintings, he creates custom frames for all of his work.
Wiatr was introduced to painting at an early age by his grandmother and has no formal training. He started painting in 1976, with thousands of his paintings and prints on display all over the world. Many local residents may recognize his work from the Northville Rotary’s Annual Woodworking and Fine Arts weekend held in July each year in Northville, NY. Wiatr attends the Fine Arts weekend each year where he displays and sells prints of his original paintings.
The Perrella Gallery hours are Monday thru Friday from 9am – 5pm during the semester, or by appointment. The gallery is closed weekends and holidays.
